Walk Through

We did our walk through the house this week. The whole point of the walk through is to find things that need to be fixed. Most of the stuff that we found were paint that needs touch upped and the master bathroom floor needs to be fixed and that is it! We have locked in our interest rate, our appraisal is back and we are closing Tuesday, Jan. 25th!

Here is Mr. Blue with my red door. The red did not come they way we wanted it. But painting things red is always a difficult thing. Our garage door is supposed to be white. They ordered the new one and we are just waiting for it to come in.

Here is the back of the house.

Here is the formal living room.

Home Blue Home

So, they finally got the front of the house painted. The sides and back of the house is stucco and the front of the house is siding. I picked a beach sand color for the stucco and a denim blue for the front and a red door. I was hoping for a beach house feel.

All I can say is that our house definitely sticks out in the neighborhood.

Here is a picture of a row of houses. You can see that all the houses are various shades of tan.

Another house in the neighborhood that is tan.

Another house in the neighborhood that is tan.

BAM! Our house, blueeeeeee

Up close and personal with the color blue!

I have to say that I (Rachel) am not loving my choices. I don't know if I don't like the blue or the tan and blue together. But, I made my choice and now I have to live with it. I am hoping that with a fence and some landscaping the blue will mellow out a bit.

Somebody told me to put some big BYU letters up and act like I am a big die hard fan. That might work since we live in Utah county.

The good thing is that I won't even need to tell people our address. All I will have to say is come to the blue house.

I have been having nightmares all last night of my 2 real estate brother-in-laws shaking their heads in shame at me. I had nightmares of them yelling at me "resale value!! resale value!!" Good thing we will be living here for a very loooonnnng time.

The house is almost done

Over the past week the house has come a long way. They have put the siding on, carpet in, counters, hooked up the plumbing, connected the electrical, installed the counters, installed the appliances, installed a skylight and a garage door.

We are getting really close.
